Mobile fireplace

After my mishap on Monday  where my chair broke down my friends suggestet to make a BBQ.  So I welded an old washing machine drum onto the remaining foot of my (former) chair. At first I thought this would make a funny flower pot. After a while I though “oh you, my creation … from here on out, you shall be … a fireplace”, grabbed some firewood and lit it.

Wash window (video installation)

Wash Window is a video installation exhibited at the Werkschau (show) at the 2014 Schmiede in Hallein/Austria. This piece was created based on the idea not to discard the porthole of an old washing machine. It features a 7:27 min. video loop of laundry in a similar washing machine.

USauB – an electronic sculpture charging your mobile devices

The sculpture “USauB” (USowB) invites visitors to interact with it. It’s powered USB teats provide vital electrical energy for our important mobile devices. Just like little piglets drink from their mother the USauB feeds mobile phones, tablets and other devices. Visitors are encouraged to place their devices in the care of the sow to have them charged.

Electronic viewfinder

Um was geht es hier: Viele alte Videokameras sind mit s/w Sucherbildschirmen ausgestattet. Um eben diese s/w Suchermonitore – electronic viewfinder kurz EVF – geht es hier. Diese lassen sich in vielen Fällen sehr einfach an eine Videosignalquelle (BAS oder FBAS) anschließen und als Minibildschrim verwenden.

Pop-art picture processing

A fun way to pep up black and white pictures is to modify the colors of the picture. For instance, take this iconic picture of Che Guevara. is is based on a black and white picture. I replaced white with red to to achieve the look of the well know version of this image.

Replacing white with red is not the only option. Using the brightness a white or a black image for the RGB channels allows in total 64 variants to combine into a colored picture.
