Feiler machanical desktop calculator
I bought this mechanical desktop calculator some years ago at a flea market.
Old electric contactor from an elevator
A few years ago the elevator in my apartment building was replaced. The changed the motor, the controls and the cabin.
I could not resist and salvaged some parts of the control. Among other parts I saved the electric contactor switching the motor. Here are some Pictures. Continue reading Old electric contactor from an elevator

Some old but interesting circuit boards from HP
I found a crate with old Hewlett Packard PCB in the storage. It’s sad enough that they sit in storage so I thought I share some pictures of them. I think it’s interesting to see how they where designed back in the day. Continue reading Some old but interesting circuit boards from HP
Low-temperature cooker/Sous-vide controller

I bought a temperature controller and a temperature probe from DealExtreme to control the temperature of a water filled pot.
After using the controller for some time only with floating wiring I decided that it was time to mounted it into a proper case (As for myself an absolutely unsafe wooden box with mains voltage inside is okay). The pictures don’t need much description. The BOM is at the bottom of this page.
This setup can be used to cook meat, make nice breakfast eggs, soften wax (used when modelmaking things with wax) and (very important) cook perfect Weisswürste!

High voltage generator from ebay
I bought this “DC 3.6v-6v to 400kV Boost Step-up Pulse Power Module High-voltage Generator” thingy from on ebay thinking it’s total crap since the description is nonsense. Stating it can deliver 200kV and also stating it can deliver 400-600kV but no even mentioning the polarity of the input. It was only $3.95 (including shipping) so I bought it anyway.
Of course it can’t generate Voltages nowhere near to 600kV or even 200kV but HELLO! It puts out enough voltage for some nice sparks. I’m still looking for a volunteer to test the how these sparks feel :D
X-Ray of a Gameboy classic
I took an X-Ray of a Gameboy classic. Coincidental a transparent one. This was actuality one of the first X-Rays I took with the X-Ray machine. This picture shows the projection of X-Rays on a fluoroscopic screen (intensifier screen) normally found in X-Ray cassettes. On the right side the Gameboy can be seen.
NES gamepad dimensions & pictures

I am working on modifying a NES gamepad. I took me some time to take the dimensions of the PCB and the keepout area where the mounts are in the controller. I’m posting the dimensions here so maybe it saves you some time.
And remember, the dimensions are not guaranteed to be correct. If you find a mistake, drop me a note.
